What is this?

It couldn’t have been much past the New Year when I received a call about an opportunity in Portland, Oregon. This was the second west coast opportunity that had come my way; the first was located in Colorado. I talked to Jaime about it – said I felt maybe that God wanted us out there for a bit. Jaime was supportive, so I went for it. And now we’re here – 3,000 miles from home.

Because this is the most impulsive thing I have done since I moved to New York City with no job lined up, I felt it would be smart to document the experience. Not knowing what is going to happen next is the most terrifying feeling – yet, it’s an incredible feeling as well. I can’t control anything beyond the day and so in a sense, I am so much more free. I have cut off my dusty safety net. I feel alive again. I also feel the urge to clean something. I am stressed. I need to condition myself to enjoy the moment and not worry about when it will be over and when the  next will happen.

So – anyhow – we have created this journal. A daily documentation of experiences and emotions and all that jazz. Enjoy!
